Cashew honey
Anacardium occidentale
Honey from the flowers of the cashew tree, grown in large plantations in north-east Brazil. It is amber in colour; beekeepers move their hives to the orchards while the trees are in bloom.
Colour varies by year and place; the value given is typical.
Cashew trees flower most heavily in August and September, in the middle of the Brazilian dry season.
