Yatay palm savanna honey

A spring and early-summer honey from the Butia yatay palm savannas of eastern Entre Ríos. Besides the palm, it comes mainly from myrtle-family trees and the thistle-like Eryngium horridum, and ranges from light amber to amber.

A study in a palm grove near Ubajay was the first to show that the yatay palm is a significant nectar source for bees: its pollen turned up in every honey sample.
